So, finally landed up at IMT………..
NOTE: Before I start , m starting a new concept called SLEEP CALCI…which just basically calculates the amount u sleep in hrs and also ratio of sleeping hrs by total hrs till date (at IMT) called sleeping index.
25 Jun: MON
DAY 0(a) : I call it day zero since nothing much happened. Got allotted room that’s it for the day. Just transferred my luggage frm my home to the hostel……( distance= hardly 5km)..so just 3 trips by bike…………….
Easy na……
26 Jun: TUES
DAY 0(b) : Just same as above… plus registration for the course….so another day zero for me………resting at home..
27 Jun: WED
DAY 1:
ORIENTATION BEGINS………..
Started wid Yoga at 7am…………
Hey hey…….seniors who were so helpful earlier suddenly seemed to turn into some MILITARY cadets…………
For every min we were late = no of rounds trip of the ground…….
YOGA seems 2 really boring & tiring …continues for 1hr or so..
1hr break for breakfast, shower etc..
Welcome addresses by dean, director etc…
Meeting wid different departments & faculty……………..all stuff over by evening…
28 Jun –THURS.
Sleepless days start….
DAY 2:
Yoga starts at 6am today onwards…
Introductory classes till 4pm.- all just soporific ( lunch break in b/w)
4:30pm- Invited talk , ( interaction wid sum alumni..)……..
7 pm onwards- presentations by various committees in IMT…………..
12 midnight- presentation ends…..
Went 2 our rooms tired……just wen we thought we were about 2 hav a wonderful sleep…sumbody KNOCKS…….its the SENIORS……….
All freshers called for
“PDP”..( u know wat dat might mean)….
Sent bak at 2am…….
2:30am…again the knocking..again the seniors….again “PDP” by sum other group…
Sent bak at 3pm..
3:30am… again the knocking..again the seniors….again “PDP” by sum other group…
Wat the HELL…cant they take “PDP” in one GO……..
Finally slept at 4am..

29 Jun: FRIDAY3: The best day of orientation :

OUTBOUND” training today……….
Wats that??…
well we r divided into teams & wat v do….simply play games…..ofcouse wid some management angles & twist 2 dem…………
Eg: crossing spider web, rappelling ( jumping from 3rd floor of our hostels), crossing open amphhi hanging upside down, crossing the bridge b/w 2 ropes etc………
Every game was fun& we really enjoyed every moment of it……also helped us bond wid most of my classmates.
Exhausted by the physical training we returned to our beds
. & guess wat happens next………..
We r called for “PDP”….again…. this time it continued till 5:40am in the morning & was bak for yoga at 6am…
so just “NO SLEEP FOR ME DAT NIGHT”……..

DAY4:
NO SLEEP- for me? Here’s a guy who sleeps for at least 8hrs a day….( testimonial can b given by ex-roomies….sharique, sadique, afroz, fahim, zahid.. r u guys there?) ..
And this guy gets hardly 2 hrs sleep in whole 48hrs……..
the whole body is aching & asked 2 do Yoga …whew….
I m asked to do our first case study in class, & m constantly taking small power naps….
Profs keep on asking us how many min hav we slept & …for the first time we came 2 know dey knew completely about “PDP”…..and guess wat, dey allow us sleep b/w classes..
( how generous)…….
& v hav just learnt the art of stealing time for sleeps….
More invited talks wid alumni…. Ppts pf clubs & committees….
So ,
60 min lunch break= 30min lunch + 30 min power nap….
15 min breaks b/w classes = sleeps wid 100% efficiency ( & they say 100% efficiency is not possible)
60 min dinner break= 30min dinner + 30 min power nap….

……but slept for “THREE” hrs …..felt like as if slept for ages………….

DAY5:
The “vicious cycle” continues…
Yoga, intro classes, invited talks,
But time for some fun…………….
Girls were asked to choose their dance partners that night….. since the there are around 80girls for 280boys …so boy partners were choosen in a unique way ( I not discussing that here)………..and as my luck is………...no girl for me like rest of 200 guys called ****** for that night…..
& wat v do…..v form groups & asked 2 prepare really fun presentations from various topics like girls in our batch , the most intimidating seniors, the ****** club etc……in just 2hr flat…..
Paper dance that nite b/w couples……& den our ppts and we were boowed, cheered, by seniors…………
